| Close enough. 186,000 MPS.
Part 2: I think either the light from the headlights would either go twice as fast, or they wouldn't work at all. Either way, I guess we will never know the answer to that one! Time could stand still too, because time is different out there! Time on earth is based on nothing more than the planet rotation. Interesting...
Your turn.... | |

| This is a good one! Howard Hughes built it. He and another guy named Kaiser(?) designed it. I remember watching a documentary on it. It was called the Spruce Goose, and I'm pretty sure it only flew once. | |

| ok lets see a fairly good trivia question. The two most popular small arms weapons in the world are the ak47 and the m16 in both their military versions as well as their civilian variants. name the men that designed them respectively and the year they went into service. | |

| The AK was designed by Michail Kalishnicof (SP?) and went into service in WWII. I'd guess it was arounf 1947 or so. For a 70 year old gun design, it's still used all over the world. Some say it's the best / toughest gun you can own.
The M-16 was designed by Armalite as an AR-15 but when Colt bought them out they change it to M-16. It was first used in Vietnam... so maybe 1964-65ish?

| close enuf Mikhail Kalashnikov ak47 1947 Eugene Stone m16 1957 interesting fact
The Germans were the first to pioneer the assault rifle concept, during World War II, based upon research that showed that most firefights happen within 400 meters and that contemporary rifles were over-powered for most small arms combat. The Germans sought to develop a select-fire intermediate powered rifle combining the firepower of a submachine gun with the accuracy and range of a rifle. This was done by shortening the standard 7.92x57mm cartridge to 7.92x33mm and giving it a lighter 125 grain bullet, that limited range but allowed for more controllable automatic fire. The result was the Sturmgewehr 44, which the Germans produced in large numbers; approximately half-a-million were made

| well i guess ill answer the question and post a new one.
Carlos Hathcock
In 1967 Hathcock set the record for the longest sniper kill. He used a M2 .50 Cal Browning machine gun mounting a telescopic sight at a range of 2,500 yd (2,286 m), taking down a single Vietcong guerrilla. This record was broken in 2002, by Canadian snipers (Rob Furlong and Arron Perry) from the 3rd Bn. PPCLI during the War in Afghanistan. Hathcock was one of several individuals to utilize the M2 Browning machine gun in the sniping role. This success led to the adoption of the .50 BMG cartridge as a viable sniper round. Sniper rifles have since been designed around and chambered in this caliber since the 1970s. The Canadian Forces snipers from the PPCLI also used the .50 BMG round in their record-breaking shots.
